We carefully pack each tuber in peat moss, and ship via priority mail.

Unpack your tubers immediately upon arrival. Protect them from freezing and sunlight, and get them planted right away. They can go straight into your garden if temperatures are consistently above freezing. Plant them on their sides, 6” deep. Make sure the soil is moist, but not soggy. Do not water the again until you see green shoots pushing up through the soil. If you need to hold your tuber until the weather warms, pot it up into moist potting soil and keep it in a warm spot. Keep soil slightly moist, but DO NOT overwater.

Our tubers are guaranteed to have one viable eye (growth point). Tubers are often oddly shaped and may be smaller or larger that you expected. This does not impact viability.
If the tuber is severely shriveled or mushy due to shipping issues, let us know immediately. You must report any issues with dahlia tubers within 7 days of receiving your package. This allows us to promptly address any concerns and proactively make things right. Any issues reported after the deadline will not qualify for a replacement or refund.
